Datafeed FAQ Is there any additional cost for the Data Feed service? Yes, there is. Please contact your account manager to get a quote. Can I access all databanks I have already subscribed to? No. You need to define the databanks you need to receive a Datafeed for. What data will I receive? You will define on set-up what data you would like to receive for each databank. You can either get the entire databank or create a saved selection (under a technical account that we will create for you). If you prefer the saved selection, you can update it at any time (add/remove dataseries etc.) and, on the next data delivery, you will receive the data based on your updated saved selection. What files will I receive? You will receive the data in CSV files. Based on the format, you can either get a single CSV file or a ZIP file containing 3 CSV files (for annual data, quarterly data and contacts) How can I receive the data? We could either send the data via email (that will contain a download link) or deliver them to an FTP/SFTP server of your choice. When will I receive a new file? You will receive the new files every time the databank is updated. (Please note that in some cases, a delay may occur due to the file generation process). How often will I receive a new file? OE offers a large variety of databanks that are updated on various frequencies (twice per month, monthly, quarterly or annually). Please ask your account manager about the update frequency on the databanks you have subscribed to and receive a data feed. Will the new files contain only the updated data series or all data series defined in my Data Feed? The generated files will contain all data series you have defined. You can safely replace your local data with the newly received data. If you need to get only the changed data series, please see the metadata value called “Date of last update”, which contains the date that this data series was updated. Will the filename be always exactly the same? All filenames have a static name (either the name of the saved selection or a name defined at set-up for entire databank delivery). However, each filename has a prefix of the date the file was generated. Thus, every file will be unique and will not replace/overwrite the existing file in the FTP/SFTP server. Will the data format/layout change? No, the data layout will be defined at the set-up. Unless you request for this change (or change the layout of the saved selection in your technical account by yourself), the files you will receive will be always of the same format. Can I change the data I receive? Yes. If you have requested to receive the entire databank and you have changed your mind, please let us know so we can update your data feeds based on your current needs. If the data feed is set up based on a saved selection, you can update your selection anytime. You will receive the new data on the next update of that databank. If you need to receive the latest data (based on your updated saved selection) before the next delivery, please contact us, and we will generate and send the new files to you. Can I get the data from the OE model applications (GMW or/and GMWO) as a Datafeed? No. The Datafeed service is for the Global Data Workstation (v1) only. Can I get custom data (e.g. extra custom columns, location codes using different standard etc)? Unfortunately, no. The Datafeed service runs against Global Data Workstation (v1) and can produce data available on that databank. The files are generated automatically for all Datafeed clients when the databank is updated and delivered to clients’ email or FTP server automatically. There is no option to alter the files.
