How to install the Global Model Workstation
The Global Model Workstation is software developed by Oxford Economics to provide a rigorous and consistent structure for forecasting and scenario analysis. This guide describes how Oxford Economics' colleagues and subscribed clients can install the Global Economic Model.
Prerequisites
Before installing the Global Model Workstation software, please ensure that your computer meets the following requirements:
- Microsoft Windows 10 or later*
- At least 2GB RAM
- 200MB free disk space
- You must have administrative privileges on your computer to install and update the software

Instructions
Please note: You must have an active subscription to the Global Economic Model in order to download the software and receive updates.
- Navigate to the My Oxford Platform
- Log in with the credentials provided by your Account Manager
- Navigate to the “Models & Scenarios” tab in the left menu and select your subscribed Model:
- Global Economic Model
- Global Industry Model
- UK Economic Model
You will only see the subscriptions that your organisation has purchased. Please contact your Account Manager to enquire about additional services.
4. Scroll down to the menu below. Here you can select the Model software and forecast that you wish to install.
5. When initially installing, select the “Full Installation” option. The package will begin downloading. Although we strongly recommend using the latest Model software release for the best user experience, you can use the “Data Files” option to download the updated monthly forecasts only.

6. Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file and run the installer.
7. Follow the steps in the installation wizard.
8. Select the installation path and continue through the installation wizard. Ensure that the destination meets the prerequisites above.
9. Once the Global Model Workstation has installed, you will be asked to install the Model and Data Automation Tool. This is a command line interface to the Global Model Workstation.
10. The installation is now complete.
